Campfire - Nature's Eau de Toilette

by Oie Dobier January 21, 2017 1 Comment

As I prepare to attend our monthly volunteer event of brush removal and burning at Lost Valley Prairie SNA, I reach for my campfire outerwear. This is the set of jacket, hat, gloves which have the slight scent of campfire. Several weekends in a row, we have hosted or attended events which had a campfire or wood burning stove. I do LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the smell, sound and warmth of campfires and wood burning stoves on a cold winter's day. Although, I do not like Nature's eau de toilette while I am grocery shopping, being the family Uber or having dinner with friends. Initially, I was washing my outerwear after every event, then I realized I am being silly.  I am an outdoor enthusiast and I smell like one too. So next time you see me and notice a slight campfire smell, it's my new eau de toilette.

I love that smell too. It makes me want to go camping. It’s the sparks that burn holes in my clothes that I can do without.
